A Two-Week Yoga Training Camp run by Dev Sanskriti University at the Army Cantonment, Raiwala, concluded on 9 th of April, 2016. The camp which started on 28 th March was unique in many ways. 120 Army Personnel, from all over India, were given special yoga training to manage stress in daily life. The kind of training, in itself, was very attractive and useful. On one hand, the Army soldiers learnt the academic aspects of Yoga, while on the other hand, they got to know the usefulness of yoga in daily life.

According to the Yoga Instructors, Dr. Gulam Askari Zaidi and Dr. Rakesh Varma, it was a new experience to provide two hours of practical yoga training in the morning and two hours of theoretical yoga training in the evening to the army troops, which included using short yoga formulae to counteract stress in everyday life.

On the eve of the closing ceremony, Dr. Chinmay Pandya, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of DSVV, made everyone aware of the subtle aspects of human excellence. According to him the art of living life grows when we include short yoga formulae in our daily life.

At the conclusion of the camp, the Chancellor of DSVV, Dr. Pranav Pandya, paying tributes to all the saints, martyrs and reformers of the nation, said that every army soldier is entitled to respect. For the all round development of oneself, they must adopt yoga in daily life.

The Brigadier of the Raiwala Army Range, Shri Sanjay Sood expressed vote of thanks to all the instructors and other dignitaries of DSVV. This was the first occasion that he saw such a friendly and disciplined camp, he accepted. He further expected that every soldier from this camp would also train other fellow soldiers from other places.

Finally, to make this program a success, the faculty of the Yoga department played an important role.
