Rupesh Kumar, a student of the Dev Sanskriti University, secured first rank in the Grand Master of Yoga Tournament held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi from 4th to 6th May 2018. A total of 65 students were selected across the country to participate in this tournament. Shweta Malik, another student of DSVV, was ranked third in the next phase of the tournament. The two students were presented with a cheque of Rs. One lakh and Rs. Thirty thousand, respectively, along with winning medals. This program was conducted under the joint auspices of Namo Ganga Trust and the All India Council of Physical Education and was supported by various institutions namely AYUSH Ministry, Dainik Jagran, Ministry of Culture, Yogashala, Paridhi, Panchkarma Arogya, Film Festival, Vedhshala and others.

Honorable Chancellor of the University, Dr. Pranav Pandya, conveyed his blessings and well wishes to the winners for their bright future. The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Chinmay Pandya, also conveying his best wishes said that the environment of the university helps in encouraging the overall development of the students making them versatile in every aspect of life.

The winners expressed their gratitude to all the teachers and staff of the Yoga Department. According to them, the University provides ample amount of opportunities to the students to revive their talents.
