Guidelines
1. Registration
a. registration will be first-come-first-serve basis
b. student / staff will visit training cell
c. a token will be given – this will take care of first-come-first-serve
d. a person can join at most 3 courses in any semester
e. a person will give choices in order of preference
f. the first preference will be allocated based on availability
g. till 26th only one course will be allocated per applicant – after that, based on availability, more courses will be allocated to a single applicant
h. training cell volunteers will be available for registration between 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Saturday in Room 111 Shriram Bhavan
i. registration will be done in-person only
j. waiting list will be maintained if applicants are more than the number of seats
k. these courses are in general open to all students, staff, faculty of D.S.V.V. (except a few)
l. a person cannot register for the same course in two consecutive semesters
2. Attendance
a. training cell volunteer will be present at the beginning of each class for each course – volunteer will take attendance and give 10 min to participants to write one page (~10 lines) summary in a notebook about what they learned in the last class – this page will be signed by the instructor and the training cell volunteer – after this the class will start
b. training cell volunteer will take attendance once more sometime during the class
c. in case a participant feels that he / she cannot attend a class, this should be informed before the class to the training cell
d. those who are not regular will be visited in off-class hours to know the reason for absence
e. if someone is absent for more than 2 consecutive classes without genuine reason, his/her name will be removed from the course and chance will be given to the next waiting candidate
3. Certificate
a. a certificate for 15 to 20 hour participation in the course will be given by training cell
b. for this at least 80% attendance is compulsory (the 20% relaxation in attendance includes all kinds of leave such as medical, etc.)
c. in case of any issue with regards to 80% attendance, training cell will decide the matter based on available proof of attendance
d. a practical exam will be conducted by training cell at or near the end of the course – this will assess practical knowledge gained by the participant
4. Content
a. these courses will mostly have practical / hands-on content
b. in the beginning importance / utility of the course will be told
c. towards the end, possible employment opportunities in the relevant field and their contact details will be told – if possible liaison support with possible employers will also be provided by training cell / instructor
