A Sub-Junior State level Judo Competition was held in the Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, the Indian Judo Federation Training Center, on 2-3 October, 2016, in which various participants from the districts of the entire Uttarakhand participated. Of these participants, who received the first prize would lead Uttarakhand State in the upcoming National level Sub-junior Judo competition to be held at Patna. The competition was jointly opened by the Registrar of the DSVV, Shri Sandeep Kumar, the Chairman of the Indian Judo Federation, Shri Mukesh Kumar and the treasurer of the Indian Judo Federation, Dr. Yashveer Singh. The girls who won the championship from Dehradun included Himani, Pinky, Shristi, Radha Yadav, Deepti, Aishwarya, Unnati, Manviya Kala, Rashmi Belwaal, and those in the boys who won the championship included Dhanik, Anuj Bhandari, Chiraag Chauhan, Himanhu Joshi, Kanta Yadav.
Along with the Indian Judo Federation, International Federation is organizing a training program to enhance the sports talent and the ground development in the country. A program on “Judo Educational Journey through India” will be held in the various cities of the country from October 1 to October 11. This is a prestigious project of the International Judo Federation to promote the importance of judo and to include the maximum number of players from the country in the project. The sub-junior state level competition was held under the supervision of Shri Rajeev Sharma, the vice-chairman of the Judo Association of Uttarakhand, Shri Narendra Singh, the Head of the Sports Department and Shri Hemant Kaushik, the Judo Instructor of DSVV.
