A Yoga and Health camp was organized on a large scale by the Centre for Complimentary & Alternative Medicines of the Department of Yoga and Health, Dev Sanskriti University, from 21 June to 27 June, 2017. 50 people from about 7 states participated in the camp. According to the camp coordinator, Dr. Amrit Lal Guruvendra, awareness was spread amongst people through the various aspects of yoga and alternative therapies. Along with this, information about experimental workshops on the physical, mental, social and spiritual aspects of Ashtanga Yoga was given. On one hand, where people were treated with the help of Panchkarma, Naturopathy, Physiotherapy, Counseling etc. and on the other hand, the problems of the people were resolved through minor and accurate remedies of alternative medicines like Marma therapy, Pranic Healing, Acupressure, Music Therapy, Sujok Therapy, etc.
The camp was concluded by an inspiring talk delivered by the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Chinmay Pandya. According to Dr. Pandya, time and again, yoga and health camps are organized in the Dev Sanskriti University, so as to spread yoga awareness amongst the masses about this ancient science as well as provide a new direction to this knowledge through research works. Dr. Suresh Lal Barnwal, the Head of the Yoga Department, described a plan to give a new look to the polyclinic section. Dr. Barnwal said that even the common man is able to gain benefit from such camps. The biggest achievement of the program was that the 50 people who attended the camp were all with praises for the significant benefit that they received from the university.
