A team of researchers from Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya and IIT Delhi reported that yoga and Ayurveda can be effective in treating high-risk cases of COVID-19.

In addition to the standard care treatment as per the guidelines, the patients were prescribed Ayurvedic medicines through telemedicine and conducted a personalized therapeutic yoga program using video conferencing. Almost all patients are classified as high risk due to one or more co-morbidities such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and coronary artery disease (which are known to lead to severe consequences in cases of COVID-19) went. and/or above 60 years of age.

The treatment given to patients was individualized (according to classical texts) and took into account each patient’s medical history and presented symptoms, which made it more effective than a fixed standardized treatment plan.
