The DSVV understands the importance of constitutional obligations: values, rights, duties and responsibilities of citizens. The Life Management Course which is compulsory for all programs addresses these aspects along with many other issues. Additionally, the university takes several initiatives in organizing various events and programmes for moulding the students and staff to become responsible citizens of the country.A few of them are as follows:

• The University has also conducted special lectures on constitutional values where various scholars discussed Duties, Values and responsibilities of citizens.
• Distinguished leaders remember the struggle of freedom and respect the National Flag and National Anthem.
• Singing of national anthem in front wall of heroes every day
• The students also being responsible citizens take many community services and provide services to mankind and society.
• The students have taken up many cleanliness drives both inside the campus and nearby villages considering it as a responsibility of every citizen.
• Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has also been an important initiative taken up by the university
• DSVV has also conducted a awareness programme for all the students and were sensitized about their fundamental duties.
