Overview

This one-year research-oriented course has been started with the objective of conducting in-depth research on the emerging genre of spiritual journalism – it is a well-thought-out initiative of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Today, when spiritual content is being seen in abundance on every platform of media – print, electronic and digital media, and its importance is becoming clear in promoting peace, solutions and mutual harmony from the individual to the family, society, nation and the world, then this course of spiritual journalism is a far-sighted initiative based on the vision of Yugrishi Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya in accordance with the demand of the time. It is known that the monthly Spiritual Magazine Akhand Jyoti, started by Acharyaji since 1940, has been illuminating generations as a beacon of spiritual journalism. In accordance with the objectives of NEP-2020, this course is presented as an interdisciplinary course of Indian knowledge tradition, for research and study on scientific, practical and contemporary useful aspects of spiritual journalism.

Overview

प्रस्तुत एक वर्षीय शोध प्रधान पाठ्यक्रम आध्यात्मिक पत्रकारिता की उभरती विधा पर गहन शोध-अध्ययन के उद्देश्य से प्रारम्भ किया गया है – यह पत्रकारिता एवं जनसंचार विभाग की एक सुविचारित पहल है। आज जब मीडिया के हर प्लेटफॉर्म – प्रिंट, इलैक्ट्रॉनिक एवं डिजिटल माध्यम में अध्यात्म प्रधान कंटेट की बहुलता दिख रही है, और व्यक्ति से लेकर परिवार, समाज-राष्ट्र एवं विश्व में शांति, समाधान से लेकर आपसी सौहार्द के सम्वर्धन में इसका महत्व स्पष्ट हो रहा है, तो ऐसे में आध्यात्मिक पत्रकारिता का यह पाठ्यक्रम समय की माँग के अनुरूप युगऋषि पं. श्रीराम शर्मा आचार्य की परिकल्पना पर आधारित एक दूरदर्शी पहल है। विदित हो कि आचार्यजी द्वारा 1940 से प्रवर्तित मासिक पत्रिका अखण्ड ज्योति, आध्यात्मिक पत्रकारिता की प्रकाश स्तम्भ के रूप में पीढ़ियों को आलोकित करती रही है। एन.ई.पी.-2020 के उद्देश्यों के अनुरूप यह पाठ्यक्रम भारतीय ज्ञान-परम्परा के इंटरडिसिप्लिनैरी (अंतरविषयक) पाठ्यक्रम के रूप में, आध्यात्मिक पत्रकारिता के वैज्ञानिक, व्यावहारिक एवं युगानुरूप उपयोगी पहलुओं पर शोध-अध्ययन के लिए प्रस्तुत है।

• Spiritual journalism in the era of current value crisis
• Comprehensive form of spiritual journalism (individual, family, society, nation, world, nature- environment, media etc.)
• Spiritual journalism and cultural – spiritual communication
• Spiritual journalism and Media education

Research Framework

This research-oriented course will allow the researcher to use one or more of the following research methods (the research methods are not limited to these):

• Historical study of spiritual journalism
• Analysis of the spiritual content in media
• Survey study on spiritual journalism
• Individual studies, observations and research contribution related to spiritual journalism
• Case study related to spiritual journalism
